Course strategy & conversion

Before you build or rebuild your course, make sure you’re solving the right problem.

I help experts choose the course offer people will pay for, make sure the course delivers, and put the marketing and sales system in place around it.

What stage are you in?

Every stage requires a different kind of proof. Choose the path that matches where you are right now.

01 · Before you build or package it

Choose the offer that will sell

You may already teach this through your services. You may have materials, an audience, even a waitlist. The open question is which audience, which angle, and which format people will pay for. Validation tests that with real behavior before you invest in the full course.

Prove the course is ready

03 · After you launch

Get the sales system working

Your course sold, or it was supposed to. Now sales are slow, uneven, or gone quiet. Find out whether the problem is the niche, list, offer, sales page, launch, or traffic. Then decide what to fix first.

Diagnose My Course Business

At every stage, the goal is the same: gather enough proof to make the next decision without guessing.

The process

Validate the demand. Review the course. Diagnose the business.

A successful course needs more than a good idea. It needs evidence at each stage.

Before you build, you need proof that people want the result and will pay for help getting it. Before you launch, you need confidence that the course can deliver what it promises. After you launch, the results show where the business is working and where it is breaking down.

Each stage answers a different question. That is why I do not start with a one-size-fits-all fix. I start with where you are, look at the available evidence, and help you decide what deserves your attention next.

When the next step is building, I can help with that too.

Validation

Before you build it, validate it.

Audience interest is not the same as buying intent.

Views, likes, comments, and DMs are useful clues. They tell you something is landing. They don’t prove anyone will pay.

Start by finding one specific problem people want solved badly enough to pay for help.

Then you test the smallest useful version of the solution before you build a full course.

Already teaching this? You are not starting from zero. You have years of client questions and patterns others don’t.

The hard part is stepping back far enough to see the course from the buyer’s side. What your clients need and what they will pay to solve on their own are not always the same thing.

Demand for your one-to-one help is a strong clue. It does not prove people will buy a self-paced version. That is worth testing before you commit.

Validate first. Build second.

Which audit do I need?

Course Audit

Choose this when you want to know whether the course itself is clear, well-structured, manageable, and capable of delivering the promised result.

About the Course Audit

Course Business Audit

Choose this when the course has launched but is not converting and you need to know whether the problem is the niche, lead magnet, email list, offer, sales page, launch, or traffic.

Need the full picture? The System Audit is a detailed review of your funnel, offer, email, and data, with a written strategy report and 30-day action plan. From $497.

See the System Audit

One reviews what happens after someone enrolls. The other diagnoses why they are not enrolling.

Both audits tell you what to fix and in what order. Neither includes doing the fixes. If you want help with that, we scope it separately once you have the findings.

How the work runs

Fix the first thing that’s broken. Then measure.

Spending on everything at once makes it impossible to tell what worked. So the work runs in a set order, with a decision point at each step.

  1. Diagnose. Find the earliest layer that isn’t holding.
  2. Scope. Agree on the one or two changes most worth funding, and what they cost.
  3. Build or fix. You do it, or I do it with you.
  4. Track. Before anything goes live, we agree on the numbers that show whether it is working.
  5. Review. At set points, we look at those numbers and decide together: keep going, adjust, or stop.

I can’t promise sales. No honest consultant can. What I can promise is a clear scope, agreed tracking, and regular review points, so you can see what your spending is doing before you commit more.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

How do I know if people will pay for my course before I build it?

Audience interest alone won’t tell you. Views, likes, comments, and DMs show attention, not buying intent. A clearer signal comes from finding one specific problem people want solved badly enough to pay for help, then testing a small version of the solution before building the full course. The free Course Validation Check shows where your evidence is strong and where it gets thin.

What kind of proof do I need at each stage of creating a course?

Before building, you need evidence that a specific audience wants the result and is willing to pay for help achieving it. Before launching, you need evidence that the course is structured to deliver the promised result. After launching, you need performance data that shows where people lose interest, hesitate, or stop moving toward a purchase. Each stage uses different evidence because each stage answers a different question.

Why isn't my online course selling?

An online course may not be selling because of the course itself or because of the commercial system around it. Problems with the offer, email list, sales page, launch, or traffic can stop a strong course from selling, while problems with structure, pacing, clarity, or student experience can weaken the course itself. The first step is determining which kind of problem you actually have before you start changing things.

I already have the course content. Can you help me sell it?

Yes. Content solves one problem. Selling it takes a clear offer, a list you stay in touch with, a sales page that does its job, and a steady way to bring people in. A good course can still sit unsold without those. If you haven't launched, start with the free Course Validation Check to confirm the audience and angle. If you have launched, start with the free Course Business Diagnostic.

Can you do the hands-on work if I don't have time?

Yes. I offer hands-on implementation, including email sequences, funnels, automations, and launch content. We agree on scope, priority order, and price before work starts. If your time or budget is limited, we start with the piece most likely to affect sales and build from there.

How do I know what to fix first in my course business?

Fix the earliest broken piece. A course business works in layers, and each one depends on the one before it. If the right people don't know the course is for them, a better sales page won't help. The free Course Business Diagnostic tests the layers in order and stops at the first one that isn't holding. That is where your time and money go first.

What does an audit include, and what doesn't it?

The Course Audit ($497) is a written review of the course itself: structure, pacing, clarity, workload, and whether it delivers what it promises. You get a prioritized report within one week. The System Audit reviews your funnel, offer, email, and data, with a written diagnosis, a 30-day plan, and a strategy call. Both tell you what to fix and in what order. Neither includes making the changes. That is scoped and priced separately if you want it.

If you can't guarantee course sales, how will I know the work is paying off?

Nobody can honestly guarantee sales. Results depend on your market, your offer, and what happens after the work is done. What we can do is decide in advance what to measure and when to look. Before work starts, we agree on the numbers that matter for that piece, such as opt-in rate, email clicks, or sales page conversion. We review them at set points and decide together whether to keep going, adjust, or stop.

What is the difference between a course problem and a course business problem?

A course problem affects what students experience after they enroll, such as structure, pacing, clarity, workload, sequencing, or whether the course delivers the promised result. A course business problem affects how people find, trust, and buy the course, including the niche, lead magnet, email list, offer, sales page, launch, and traffic. They require different fixes, which is why identifying the right problem comes first.

What is an online course audit?

An online course audit is an expert review of the course itself to identify what is working, what may be getting in the student's way, and what should be improved first. A course audit can look at structure, lesson sequence, pacing, clarity, workload, student experience, and whether the course delivers the result it promises.

What is the difference between a Course Audit and the Course Business Diagnostic?

The Course Audit reviews the course students actually experience after they enroll. The Course Business Diagnostic looks at the commercial system around the course, including niche, lead magnet, email, offer, sales page, launch, and traffic.

If you're wondering whether the course itself works well, start with the Course Audit. If you're wondering why a course isn't selling, start with the Course Business Diagnostic.

When should I get my online course audited?

Consider a course audit when you're too close to the course to evaluate it objectively, students seem to lose momentum or become confused, you're planning a major update, or you want an expert review before you launch. An audit can help you identify what actually needs changing before you spend time rebuilding things that already work.

Can you audit an online course before it launches?

Yes. A course can be audited before it launches. Reviewing the structure, pacing, clarity, workload, and student path before enrollment begins can uncover problems that would otherwise only become visible after real students encounter them.

Can you audit a course that isn't built in a course platform?

Yes. Your course can be hosted in a course platform or still exist as documents, slides, videos, workbooks, or other course materials. As long as I can review the complete student experience and the materials students will receive, I can conduct the audit.

About

Barbara Amador

COURSE DESIGN STRATEGY AND CONVERSION

I've spent years building, reviewing, and improving online courses.

And I've learned that when something isn't working, the problem usually lives in one of two places: the course itself or the system around it.

Sometimes students are getting lost, overwhelmed, or asked to do too much before they see a result.

Sometimes the course is solid, but the offer, email, sales page, launch, or traffic isn't doing its job.

The hard part is knowing which problem you actually have.

If you haven't built the course yet, the question comes earlier: what will people actually pay for?

That's what I do now.

I look at the whole picture, find what's getting in the way, and tell you what deserves your attention first.

And when you need help putting the fix in place, I do that too.

Instead of treating each platform as a separate piece of technology, she helped me look at the entire system as one connected customer experience.
